Why is your boba tea higher priced than other shops?
Our prices are comparable to other premium boba tea shops that focus on loose leaf options alongside cafes and coffee shops. The reasons our boba tea is premium can be found in our quality ingredients and processes. A few of those being:
-Our teas are brewed with loose leaf tea - never powdered tea flavors
-We are continually researching and striving to source from small businesses that have teas made with organic, fair-trade, and/or direct-trade tea/coffee farm options
-We use real milk - not creamer powder - and offer non-dairy & vegan options without additional charges to guests
-We strive to make organic syrups in-house made with real fruit and when not possible, we source local syrups and syrups from Asian-owned businesses
-When possible, we recycle and compost relevant ingredients and containers when prepping to reduce waste and we offer reusable dine-in straws and jars for our drinks in our cafes
-We are an Asian American, woman, and immigrant-owned small business; as a result we aim to offer authentic flavors and to provide cultural integrity for the products we serve
-We co-founded Asian Leaders Network and support this non-profit organization in Waco, TX to increase Asian community, culture, and arts in the Greater Waco, TX area. We also host profit shares with, partner with, and provide sponsorships for non-profits and local organizations to give back to the community
-Team members receive higher than minimum wage starting wages and shared tips and full-time team members (40+ hours a week) not only receive PTO/sick leave, options for health benefits - we also provide 401(k) retirement options too.
We are on a mission of bridging cultures and creating community through premium boba tea, drinks, and pan-fried dumplings, so we are passionate about creating quality experiences for the boba tea and food/beverage industry just as many have an appreciation for quality in other industries. Our values lead to higher ingredient and labor costs and we truly believe this is reflected in the quality experiences we provide to guests.
Why isn't your tapioca boba ready at some of your stores that open early during the weekdays?
Our tapioca boba is freshly brewed each morning, with a preparation time of about 1.5 to 2 hours. In Waco, we open at 9:30 AM on weekdays at our Downtown Waco and 8th St location and also on Saturdays at our 8th Street location. This allows guests who prefer tea, matcha, or coffee without tapioca boba to stop by earlier. Our tapioca boba is ready by 11:00 AM daily in Waco.
At our Downtown Temple cafe, we open at 10:00 AM Monday through Saturday, giving guests the option to enjoy matcha, tea, or coffee before tapioca boba is available. On Sundays, we open at noon. In Temple, tapioca boba is ready by 11:00 AM Monday through Saturday, and at opening on Sundays. If there is any confusion, please refer to our locations page for full details or email us at info@chacommunity.com
